Following the completion of a major $280-million transformation in November 2025, the City of Hamilton, Hamilton Urban Precinct Entertainment Group (HUPEG), and Oak View Group re-opened the arena’s doors with a sold-out performance by Paul McCartney. A February 2026 announcement named the New York Islanders’ AHL affiliate, Hamilton Hammers, as the newest tenant of TD Coliseum, with the team set to begin its inaugural season in Fall 2026. Just months later, a May 2026 announcement revealed that the PWHL would expand to Hamilton, recognizing the region as one of the largest and most passionate hubs for girls’ hockey participation in the world, with TD Coliseum serving as the team’s home venue.
