The New York Islanders, together with Oak View Group (OVG), are relocating the franchise’s American Hockey League affiliate, Hamilton Hammers, to Hamilton, Ontario, for the start of the 2026-27 season.
The Professional Women’s Hockey League has officially announced Hamilton as an expansion franchise beginning with the 2026-27 season. PWHL Hamilton will call TD Coliseum home, joining Boston, Minnesota, Montréal, New York, Ottawa, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver, Las Vegas, and Detroit as part of the league’s growing footprint across North America.
