Event Details
Born in North London with Scottish roots, Rod Stewart first made his mark in the 1960s with Long John Baldry, Steampacket, Shotgun Express, and later through seminal work with Jeff Beck and the Faces. He then launched a solo career that produced some of the biggest hits in music history, including “Maggie May,” “Forever Young,” “Rhythm of My Heart,” “Tonight’s the Night,” “I Don’t Want to Talk About It,” “You Wear It Well,” and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy.”
The 2000s saw Sir Rod record five acclaimed volumes of his Great American Songbook series, pushing his career into uncharted territory and creating the biggest-selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history. His rekindled love of songwriting continued with the release of four studio albums of original songs beginning with 2013’s Time—a chart-topping record that reached the Top 10 in the U.S. and ten countries worldwide, including No. 1 in the U.K., where it was certified double-platinum. In addition, Stewart revisited some of his greatest hits with You’re in My Heart: Rod Stewart with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. A timeless record which spent three weeks at No. 1, making it Stewart’s tenth chart-topping album—a milestone in an already remarkable career.
